Unhealthy dietary patterns are today the leading risk factor for premature mortality in both Sweden and Ghana, affecting public health and societal resilience across continents. At the same time, food systems which include food environments, account for significant environmental impact globally. Transforming food environments requires evidence-based research that can be adapted and applied to diverse local contexts. Welcome to a conversation bringing together leading researchers and practitioners working on food environments, from Accra to Stockholm!
This webinar opens with introductions from Reformaten and Ghana Food Movement, outlining their work on food environments and youth perspectives, before moving into the Political Economy Analysis of the Food Industry (PEAFI) project — presenting a novel methodological toolkit and insights into adolescents’ lived experiences of food environments in Tamale, Ghana. The event is organized by Reformaten with Mission Food Environment and Ghana Food Movement in collaboration with The Guild-ARUA Cluster of Research Excellence on Food Environment Actions for the Promotion of Health (FE4H CoRE). The webinar is part of the Ghana Plate project, led by Ghana Food Movement with funding from CFSI, Fondation de France and the French Development Agency (AFD).
